The citronella grass is one of the essential oil-producing plants. In addition to the technical problems of cultivation which is a determining factor for the success of agriculture. Environmental factors also determine the continuity of the citronella grass cultivation business.

According to the CEO of PT. Hampton Muda Berkarya, he sees the potential for geography, topography, and climate of Bolaang Mongondow, as very suitable for the development of citronella grass. Which will later be processed into essential oils to be distributed to large companies. Not only in Indonesia but also abroad.

So far, the citronella oil business in Indonesia has faced problems such as varying product quality and fluctuating prices. The problem comes from the source of raw materials, the response of farmers, the production process, and the technology of the production process that affects the quality of the production of citronella oil in Indonesia, unable to compete with the citronella oil from Sri Lanka.

"PT. Hampton Muda Berkarya will apply technology and knowledge that can increase the productivity of citronella grass as well as the quality of Bolmong citronella oil to become a superior and mainstay agricultural product from Bolaang Mongondow," he said.

Meanwhile, Regent Bolaang Mongondow Yasti Mokoagow continued to support BMR's plantation and agricultural products, especially Bolmong go international. "The Bolmong Regency Government continues to open up investment space in its territory so that market opportunities are open for the community in improving the economy and people's welfare," he said.

The First Export of Bolmong Nutmeg By Hampton Commodity Trading Firm

In collaboration with PT. Hampton Berkarya Muda, Bolaang Mongondow (Bolmong) Regent Yasti Soepredjo Mokoagow officially released the first export of nutmeg commodities.

The export of these commodities is carried out by PT. Hampton Muda Berkarya was released by Bolmong Regent, Yasti Soepredjo Mokoagow, Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Bolmong Regent Yasti Soepredjo Mokoagow fully supports the export of these commodities.

“The latent problem of our agricultural and plantation products so far is due to the limited availability of demand and the market. So commodity prices tend to be uncompetitive. In the end, it is difficult for farmers to prosper because the selling price is not commensurate with the production costs,” said the Regent.

The Regent also added that the existence of exporters is a strategic bridge for Bolaang Mongondow's superior products with foreign markets. This can encourage regional economic growth as well as improve people's welfare.

"In the future, we hope that the export volume can increase because the availability of nutmeg in this area is very large and for the other potential agricultural products," said the Regent.

Anggit Nasution, President Director of PT Hampton Muda Berkarya, said the export was carried out after conducting a lengthy survey regarding the availability of goods and their quality specifications.

"This is our first export from Bolaang Mongondow. This is only the early stages. In the future, we will increase the volume because the supply from Bolmong is large and the demand abroad is very large," said Anggit.
