The Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, Marina Berg, said that Sweden was continuously trying to improve trade relations with Indonesia.
"We will do our best to improve it, that's for sure," said Marina, in a virtual interview in Jakarta on Thursday (2/12/2021).
He even revealed that the most imported products and commodities from Indonesia to Sweden are coffee and textiles.
Sweden's interest in Indonesian textiles can be seen from the production of a number of clothing products by the large fashion company H&M carried out in Indonesia.
"Some of our companies, one of which is H&M, actually produce a lot of their products in Indonesia. These products are then also widely exported abroad," said Marina.
While related to economic recovery efforts in Indonesia, Marina conveyed the importance of contributions from each sector, namely the private and public, as well as academia.
"Making the post-pandemic economic recovery, green and sustainable, that's the policy for most Swedish companies. Small companies, mid-sized companies, large companies, everything must be in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement," said Marina.
He also mentioned that infrastructure and transportation are the sectors that Swedish companies are most interested in investing in Indonesia.
He also reiterated that when Swedish companies want to invest in Indonesia, they must implement green and sustainable economic policies.
